Concertmaster Erica Kiesewetter and principal violist David Creswell join forces in Mozart and More.  Performances are at Patchogue Theatre for the Performing Arts and newly added venue, the atmospheric John Cranford Adams Playhouse at Hofstra University, which recently celebrated its 50th anniversary.

BACH…AND ALL THAT JAZZ!
April 18, 2010, Sun., 3 PM at Patchogue Theatre

You’ll delight in this program which combines the timeless classic works of Bach with new American jazz and modern classics by Gershwin, Joplin and Bolling.  The first and second place winners from the 23rd Young Artist Competition are featured in the moving Bach Concerto for Two Violins and Orchestra in D minor.

World-acclaimed pianist Joseph Kalichstein, of the famed Kalichstein-Laredo-Robinson Trio, makes his debut with the Philharmonic performing Beethoven’s dazzling Piano Concerto No. 4.  Hailed for his “eloquent musicianship, brilliant dexterity and beautiful tone,” by the Miami Herald, the Philharmonic is proud to have him open its 31st season.

The Philharmonic welcomes two-time Tony Award-winning actress Chita Rivera in an exciting concert to benefit our operations, from the concert hall to the classroom.  Regarded a “living legend,” she is considered the most accomplished actress/dancer/singer ever to grace the Broadway stage. The New York Times said, “When Chita Rivera invites you to come on, babe, and help her paint the town, no one with a pulse is going to feel like refusing.”
