This endowed scholarship was established by the late Agnes Trill Funk - a long-time supporter of the Long Island Philharmonic - and friends in 1998. Two scholarships, one in Nassau County and one in Suffolk County, are awarded annually to high school seniors who have exhibited outstanding scholastic and musical achievement and who plan on entering a career in music performance or education. Applying students must submit a list of secondary schools applied for/accepted to, current class standing and GPA, letters of recommendation from their private instrumental instructor and school music director or school principal, and an essay stating intent of major concentration and future objectives with said degree.
