24th YOUNG ARTIST COMPETITION-Woodwinds & Brass |
| Come and listen to gifted young musicians vie for the top prizes and an opportunity to perform with the Long Island Philharmonic. These young talents will inspire both children and adults.
A different family of instruments is the focus of the competition each year:
2011–Piano • 2012–Strings • 2013–Woodwinds & Brass
Students through grade 12, attending schools in Nassau, Suffolk and Queens Counties, are invited to audition.
Application deadline: January 15, 2010
Prizes:
1st place - $1,000 Maestro Christopher Keene Memorial Scholarship & invitation to perform with the Long Island Philharmonic at the Annual Gala, time and location TBD
2nd place - $750 Vincent S. Rossitto Memorial Award
3rd place - $250 Brian R. McCaffrey Award

The 23rd season of Long Island Philharmonic Young Artist Competition was held on Monday, March 16 2009 at Tilles Center. Ji-Eun Anna Lee, violin who is an 8th grader at M.S. 67 Louis Pasteur Middle School, Little Neck won the First Prize. The Second Prize went to Caroline B. Suh, violin who is a 9th grader at William
H. Shine Great Neck South High School, Great Neck. Madeline C. Fayette, cello who is a 12th grader at Shoreham-Wading River High School, Shoreham won the Third Prize. |
