Students through grade 12 living in Nassau, Suffolk or Queens Counties are invited to compete in the Young Artist Competition – Strings.
Prizes:
1st place - $1,000 Maestro Christopher Keene Memorial Scholarship & invitation to perform with the Orchestra at the Annual Gala (at the discretion of Long Island Philharmonic Music Director David Wiley)
2nd place - $750 Vincent S. Rossitto Memorial Award
3rd place - $250 Brian R. McCaffrey Award
Application deadline: January 2009 TBD
Final Round: Monday, March 16 at 6:00 pm
Winner must be available to perform at the LI Philharmonic’s Gala Concert

Last Season's 22nd Young Artist Competition - Piano
The 22nd annual Long Island Philharmonic Young Artist Competition was held on Monday, March 10 at HIllwood Recital Hall, Tilles Center.
Jun Luke Foster,
10th Grade at Calhoun High School, Merrick
won the First Prize. The Second Prize went to
Andrew J. Leiman, 12th Grade at West Islip High School.
Jessica Chen, 10th Grade at Half Hollow Hills High School, Dix Hills won the Third Prize.
Jun Luke will perform the Rhondo from Beethoven's Emperor Concerto with the Orchestra at its annual Gala on April 30th at Crest Hollow Country Club.
