Classics Concert I
An Evening with the Galways
Sir James Galway, known as "the Man with the Golden Flute," is considered a classical music icon. SIr James is one of the first flute players to have a successful international career as a soloist. We are honored to have him and Lady Galway open our 2008-09 season.

Classics Concert II
Tchaikovsky, Beethoven and Billy Joel
Violinist David Kim, internationally renowned concertmaster of the Philadelphia Orchestra since 1999, performs Tchaikovsky's immortal violin concerto. The New York Times said, "...the concertmaster's superb, delicate solos were gold on gold." Also on the program are Beethoven's heroic 5th Symphony and Billy Joel's orchestral tribute to Long Island fishermen, "Elegy: The Great Peconic."

Classics Concert III
The Romantic Guitar
Kenneth Meyer, raised in the village of Patchogue, is a critically acclaimed guitarist, giving concerts and lectures across the country as well as in Europe and South American. The Washington Post said, "He brought lyrical, wistful pieces...beautifully alive and infused." March 14, 2009
Brahms' Spiritual Requiem
In honor of the Philharmonic's 30th anniversary, Maestro Wiley brings together the much-adored Long Island Philharmonic Chorus and his other chorus, the Roanoke Symphony Chorus, for the very first time to sing Brahms' beloved requiem. The Philharmonic Chorus, founded in 1979 by Chorus Director Frances C. Roberts, has been a core part of the Philharmonic since it began.

Classics Concert IV
Watts Plays Beethoven's Emperor
Pianist André Watts, one of today's most prominent artists, performs at Tilles Center and makes his Patchogue Theatre debut. His playing has been described as, "...a winning combination of ferocity and grace," siad the San Francisco Chronicle. "His technique has the sleek, polished facility of someone born to the instrument." saidThe New York Times.

Annual New Year's Eve Concert
Broadway Goes Hollywood!
The annual New Year's Eve Concert at Tilles Center, Broadway Goes Hollywood!, showcases Maestro Wiley, full orchestra and hot vocal stars singing selections from some of the most famous musicals to make their way to the silver screen. The evening's appeal among Philharmonic audiences has been enjoying the concert starting at 7:30 PM and ending in ample time to get you out to greet the New Year with loved ones and friends.
