MusicLIvz Arts-in-Education FREE open rehearsal program, Orchestra at Work Over 120 students from Locust Valley, Plainedge and Westbury school districts participated in the Long Island Philharmonic’s MusicLIvz Arts-in-Education FREE open rehearsal program, Orchestra at Work, on Thursday, November 12th at the Tilles Center. Students attended a pre-rehearsal workshop with Long Island Philharmonic Director of Education and Community Engagement, Dr. Karen M. Beluso, and then proceeded to the rehearsal. Orchestra at Work gives students an opportunity to sit in on a rehearsal and discover exactly what is involved in preparing for a concert. Students develop an appreciation of musical interpretation and are given the opportunity to observe the rehearsal process as well as meet the conductor.
