Long Island Philharmonic Music Director David Stewart Wiley Visits Freeport High School

After only 40 minutes of rehearsal with Long Island Philharmonic Music Director, David Stewart Wiley, students were talking about their experience with Maestro Wiley.  Aside from his apparent insight and technical direction the students all agreed he was "fun, handsome and friendly...” Students were not aware they could improve so much in a single period of instruction.  Freeport High School students truly take music to heart.

Maestro Wiley’s visit is the result of a collaborative effort between the Long Island Philharmonic and school districts whose students are among our priority audience.  Bringing Maestro Wiley into the school brings classical music into people’s lives through a highly personal approach.  Through school visits such as this, the Long Island Philharmonic is able to touch the lives of every member of our community, not just those who attend concerts.
