Support the Philharmonic
Do not let the recession take away any more music and arts from Long Island. Help us with your gift to keep our great musicians playing.
Donate today $5, $10, $50, $100 or more!
Here are the facts:
First, the good news:
This summer, more than 50,000 Long Island residents enjoyed free outdoor parks concerts, more than any summer in our history. We are grateful to the generosity of the Nassau and Suffolk County Executives and Legislatures, the Huntington and Islip Arts Councils, the Town of Brookhaven, and David Lerner Associates, BAE Systems and Capital One for their generous support.
Our school programs reach and teach more than 30,000 students annually, having increased five times in the last four years.
While other performing arts organizations have closed their doors on Long Island, the Philharmonic has been playing for 31 years, with many of our original subscribers still attending.
Now, the bad news:
New York State funding for last year’s season still has not been received.
The New York State Council on the Arts funding to the Philharmonic has been reduced by nearly 17%. That is the third reduction in three years.
Corporate fundraising support is being cut or redirected.
The Philharmonic has had to delay the announcement of its season until new funds are raised.
We need your help to keep the music playing. Let us show that Long Island is still as culturally committed and vibrant as ever. It is a “sound” investment for you, your children, and your family.
If you would like to make a donation to the Philharmonic, please contact our office at 631.293.2222 and a representative will gladly help you. Or, you can mail a check to One Huntington Quadrangle, Suite 2C21, Melville, NY 11747.
Remember, when you make your gift today of $5, $10, $50, $100 or more, you make the difference!
Thank you.
